On October 11 this year, Mazovia Circular Congress will be held at 22 Białostocka Street in Warsaw. This will be an opportunity to meet circular economy leaders and international experts in the field of closed loop solutions. During the conference you will be able to listen to inspirational presentations, take part in interactive workshop sessions and learn about the most interesting case studies from Poland and Europe. Adam Krzysztof Struzik

Local and central-level politician. Senator of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th term, Speaker of the Senate in 1993-1997. Marshal of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship since 2001. In 2007 he was elected vice president of the Union of Voivodships of the Republic of Poland. He has been a member of the Committee of the Regions and a member of its presidium for many years . Promoter of cultural, scientific and business cooperation; initiator of projects related to, i.a. innovation and economic competitiveness, e-development and security.

Daphne Bergsma

Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic Poland, also accredited to the Republic of Belarus. During her career at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs she held a number of posts around the world, in locations such as Germany, Japan, Brazil, Vietnam. In the last decade she position of Ambassador to Slovakia and the Director of the Europe Department and Ambassador at large in The Hague.

Stefan Gullgren

Swedish ambassador to Poland. For many years a professional diplomat in the Swedish foreign service, where he was primarily associated with the area of Eastern Europe. A longtime employee of the Swedish embassy in Moscow after which he became the Ambassador to Ukraine. In his career he has dealt with political issues as well as economic and commercial affairs.

Juha Tapio Ottman

Finish Ambassador to Poland. Throughout his professional career he worked at the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he held various positions, including deputy director at the  Department for Europe, Ambassador to Croatia and Macedonia. Juha Tapio Ottman is an economist by profession, primarily interested in matters of international economic relations.

Dirk Aarts

Dirk is a managing partner at 24/7 Communications where he adviced global companies, i.a. McDonald’s, Microsoft, P&G, Saint Gobain in brand management, corporate communications and PR. Dirk is Vice-President in PROI, world’s largest network of communication agencies, where he has established a global consumer PR practice within PROI, bringing world class knowhow and experienced together.

Vee Bougani

CEO/co-founder of Sustainable Food Movement in Greece & Founder of Foodity. Vee Bougani is a social entrepreneur, Sustainable Culinary Business Consultant as well as an expert in fighting food waste. She was in charge of various culinary and hospitality projects in Europe, United States and the Middle East, as well as worked as a culinary arts consultant for i.a. Lonely Planet, Forbes Travel Guide, CN Traveler.

Hubert Bukowski

Research manager at the Institute of Innovation and Responsible Development. Economist, expert in the field of systemic innovation in theory, i.a. in the areas of circular economy implementation, macroeconomic effects of regulation, endogenous models of economic growth, and in practice – founder of a commercial payments’ safeguarding startup. He is passionate about circular economy as a concept with the potential to radically change current economic and social relations.

Agata Czachórska

Agata  is a sustainability enthusiast, within CSR for many years. She has dealt i.a. with implementation of eco-standards, CRM campaigns and social initiatives. She currently leads the Circular IKEA Poland project focusing on innovations and development of circular services and activities, including prolonging life of HF products and furniture subscription offer.

Jasper Dalhuisen

Jasper Dalhuisen is an doctor of economics specializing in environmental economics. He works at the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food quality, where he is responsible for the agricultural statistics and the bilateral agro relations of Netherlands with Germany and Poland. He is also the vice chair of the Joint Working Party Agricultural and the Environment and the Dutch delegate of Working Party on Agricultural Policies and Markets of the OECD.

Piotr Grabowski

Together with Michał Piosik, he founded the first food industry accelerator in Poland –, in pursuit of a more ecological food industry. To this end, he prepares, trains and helps to finance startups dealing with, e.g. vertical farms, powdered food or vegetarian meat substitutes. Piotr Grabowski also works as a Business Developer & Partnerships Manager at HubHub – a European network of coworking spaces.

Mathijs Koper

Mathijs Koper is one of the founders of World Startup Factory – one of the Europe’s most active early-stage impact investors. Based on his 15 years of business experience, he acts as an expert for corporations and startups that strive to develop business in a more sustainable direction. At the same time, together with Outside Inc., he supports corporations and governments in the development of innovations and new business opportunities for positive change.

Eveline Lemke

Eveline Lemke is a consultant, lateral thinker and guide in the circular economy and systems thinking. She initiated many sustainable projects as the first Green Minister of Economic Affairs and Deputy Minister-President in Rhineland-Palatinate. She is an expert in issues related to energy, raw material transition, and eco-design. She founded a competence center on circular economy issues: Thinking Circular, which is listed as a think tank on the UN Sustainability Helpdesk.

Jakub Malec

For years, he has been associated with the Orbis and Accor Hotel Group, Executive Chef at the Novotel Warszawa Centrum Hotel, advocate of zero waste philosophy, who has introduced a comprehensive program to fight food waste, with great results. For years, he has been inspiring and motivating chefs to run a sustainable kitchen and limit waste.

Kamil Mikołajczyk

He gained experience in Corporate Banking at Bank BPH SA, Bank PEKAO SA and UniCredit Bank AG, where he was responsible for relations with corporate clients. From 2018, he has been associated with Santander Bank Polska (formerly Bank Zachodni WBK) and deals with the industrial production sector, including industries related to the production of packaging, joinery furniture, building materials.

Michał Mikołajczyk

Lawyer, volunteer of the Polish and International Red Cross. For many years he has been associated with Rekopol Organizacja Odzysku Opakowań S.A. where he is currently a proxy. Author of many campaigns promoting waste segregation and conscious shopping as well as organizer of “green CSR” projects. He participated in the works on the EU Circular Economy Package and on the concept of packaging and packaging waste management in Poland.

Jaimy Nijnens

Jaimy is an consultant for Circular Economy at YSE with a MSc degree in change management. He has been working on projects implementing circular business models at companies like Philips, C-Bèta, Schiphol and ECOR. For him Circular Economy means an innovative, tangible and human-centred solution to tackle some of the most challenging issues of our time.

Pieter van Os

Pieter is one of the initiators and developers of the Circo programme where he has personally trained and adviced 300 companies in the area of  i.a. business models, product and service component redesign. This experience convinced him that Circular Economy provides the opportunity to create business for companies and make the planet a better place at the same time.

Irena Pichola

Partner at Deloitte consulting company, Leader of  Sustainability Consulting. She has almost twenty years of experience in the area of strategic management in the field of sustainable development, including circular economy. She advises clients on organizational transformation strategies, reporting, measuring impact, reputational risk management and environmental protection.

Marcin Podgórski

Director of the Department of Emission, Waste Management and Integrated Permits at the Mazovian Marshall Officep. During his many years of experience in the public sector he held management positions and participated in the work of expert groups. He has been involved in the processes of co-financing projects in the areas of water and waste management, local social infrastructure, and investments in agriculture.

Bolesław Rok

Professor at the Kozminski University in Warsaw where he coordinates “CSR. Responsible business strategy” postgraduate studies. Expert in the field of CSR, business ethics, circular economy and a participant of international projects in those fields. He has been involved in business for almost thirty years as an entrepreneur and consultant. Co-founder of the Responsible Business Forum, the Polish Business Ethics Association EBEN. Member of the UN Global Compact Program Council.

Anna Sapota

Vice-President of CP Recycling Organizacja Odzysku Opakowania S.A., Member of the Board CAN-PACK Morocco s.a.r.l. and CAN ASIA Inc. Director (companies within the CANPACK group). Anna Sapota is a doctor of law, a recognized expert in the field of legal services for international and cross-border investments, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and compliance.

Lukas Schifferle

Lukas Schifferle has been working as the Director for economic and scientific affairs for three years at the Swiss Embassy in Warsaw. Being a diplomat he served in Beijing, Bruxelles and Bern, working in various fields. He studied economics, business administration and law at the University of Zurich and used to work in the banking sector as a risk controller and corporate banker. His special interest are new technologies related to environment and climate change.

Nico Schouten

Nico Schouten is a sustainability consultant at Metabolic, where he focuses on projects related to cities and the construction sector. He has extensive experience in implementing circular concepts in these areas, including working for the AMS institute and at the Center for Sustainability of LDE-alliance. He hopes that thanks to a multidisciplinary approach, by creating synergies between various fields of expertise and actors, he will be able to support the dissemination of circular concepts.

Tomasz Szczygielski

Tomasz Szczygielski is the head of the Anthropogenic Minerals Engineering Center of the Warsaw University of Technology. He is an expert in circular economy in the energy sector, in particular in the management of combustion by-products. Co-author of three patents and innovative concepts, including Zero Waste Coal Power. Founder of the Polish Union of Combustion By-Products, in the years 2002–2006 vice president of the European Coal Combusion Products Association.

Agnieszka Sznyk

President of the board of the Institute of Innovation and Responsible Development, where she initiated and coordinates, i.a. Polish Circular Hotspot and Circular Week projects. A doctor of agricultural sciences, an expert on sustainable socio-economic development and circular transformation strategies, with a vast experience in international projects. She also deals with the area of public relations and communication, in which she received the Proton award for the best PR specialist in the NGO sector.

Kim Tjoa

Kim is Co-Founder of FLOOW2 World’s Reset Button, the business-to-business sharing marketplace that enables companies to share underutilized assets, waste, resource streams, services, facilities and personnel. He is responsible for the company’s strategy and business development. Kim’s inspiration for leading the network organisation is derived from his passion for the sharing economy and based on trust and collaboration.

Kuba Walasek

Country Manager at Too Good To Go, the world’s largest application aimed at tackling food waste. Before joining Too Good To Go team, he worked inthe food industry where, i.a. he had been developing his own craft ice cream brand ICE POPS. He is an expert in building brand awareness as well as managing products on different European markets.

Joanna Wis-Bielewicz

Joanna Wis-Bielewicz is a member of the board of the Institute of Innovation and Responsible Development. An expert in the field of sustainable development, low-emission transformation and mitigation of climate risks. She conducted projects in this field for international investors, corporations and European public institutions, including for the German Federal Ministry of the Environment (BMU) and for the European Commission.

Laury Zwart

Laury Zwart is an entrepreneur who is active in the sharing economy area. Working at FLOOW2, Laury is responsible for communication, marketing and project management. Over the past years she became specialized in changing the mind-set and behaviour of people and businesses from ownership to access.

Krzysztof Żarnotal

Krzysztof Żarnotal is the Proxy of the Board for Circular Economy at Synthos S.A. He has a profound experience in management and strategic communication gained in Polish and international companies both in public and private sector. He was CEO of i.a. PWPW S.A., Wydawnictwo Przekrój sp. z o.o., Nida Gips sp. z o. o. He counseled for the banking, IT and energy sectors (PGNiG Serwis sp. z o. o., PKO BP S.A., BOŚ S.A. among others).
