CIRCULAR WEEK October 12-18, 2020
Circular Week is an international campaign which consists series of events and initiatives devoted to the subject of circular economy and sustainable development that take place throughout Europe. The Circular Week’s goal is to promote the idea of a circular economy, support sustainable business models and establish cooperation between interested stakeholders.
Main goal of the initiative is to involve as many people, entities and institutions as possible in promoting and implementing circular economy concept. Everyone could become a co-organizer of International Circular Week. Grassroots initiative took the form of e.g. goods exchange platforms, educational workshops, seminars, food sharing events or online webinars.
The initiative was supported by numerous Embassies to show how broad it is the concept of circular economy and how much rely on collaboration and knowledge sharing. Each involved Embassy – Embassy of Netherlands, Embassy of Finland, Embassy of Austria, Embassy of Switzerland and Embassy of Sweden – have organized an educational event relevant to the topic of their most interest.
Any entity which had a desire to become a co-organizer and a partner of circular week could submit their own event on the circular map. INNOWO, as main coordinator of the project, have gathered all initiatives, placed it on the online platform of events and in the calendar available to the public and supported them in promoting these events.
On the last working day of the Circular Week, 16 October 2020, we held the focal point of the WEEK, International Circular Economy Mazovia Summit in Warsaw. This event is one of the biggest and most prestigious conference in Poland on circular economy. This event is targeted to public administration, local municipalities, companies, CSR, sustainable managers, local administration, start-ups and media. During the conference there were presented international case studies with recommendations and discussions on possible implementation of similar projects in Poland. We also held many panel discussions of different groups of stakeholders (businesses, administration, NGOs) on how to profit from circular solutions.
