Flexible plastics in Europe’s circular economy

Durable, light, low-cost and with good barrier properties – flexible plastics are a leading material in packaging applications in consumer goods, construction, and agriculture. However, their reuse potential is limited, making flexible plastics a drain on the Europe’s resources and a serious pollution threat. This is why innovative solutions are needed in order to keep them in the loop for as long as possible. Our session “Flexible Plastics in Europe’s Circular Economy” gives an overview of current management and viewpoints to future increased circularity of flexible plastics on a European scale – register for the event to join the discussion!

This session will be based on a recent report of the ETC/CE project with the same title. The report policies and initiatives that seek to improve the circularity of flexible plastics across sectors. The participants will have the opportunity to hear about the main insights and learnings from the report as well as reflect and discuss with experts on related implications and leverage points for a more sustainable and circular plastics system in Europe.
